Mental Health

The Mental Health Program aims to provide high-quality, client-centred care through a continuum of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services extending across our hospitals and into the communities of Oakville, Milton, Acton and Georgetown.

Our interprofessional staff includes social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, peer support, nurse practitioners, child and youth counselors, pharmacists, dieticians, teachers and psychiatrists. They will work closely with you and your family to understand and meet your needs.

Emergency Care

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and require immediate attention please visit your closest Emergency Department or dial 911.

Halton Healthcare provides emergency mental health services through our Emergency Departments at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital and Georgetown Hospital.


Outpatient Services (Non-Emergency)

A referral from a family physician is required to access outpatient mental health services at Halton Healthcare. Referrals are screened and processed by one-Link. For more information, please call one-Link at 905-338-2983 ext. 4897 or visit:

Mental Health Consumer Advisory Committee

The Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) provides Mental Health program staff with input and advice on service delivery, policies and quality improvements. Members of the CAC are family members, friends or individuals who have lived experience with mental health and addiction services team.

The CAC meets monthly in-person or online for friendly and supportive discussion. Dinner is provided for in-person meetings and parking is reimbursed. CAC members serve a two-year term and can live in Halton Hills, Milton or Oakville.
