In response to the evolving situation around COVID-19, and with information from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, we are taking additional precautions to safeguard the health and safety of all.
Patient Visiting Suspended
In order to reduce the transmission of illness and protect our patients, especially those most vulnerable and at risk, visitors are no longer permitted at any of our hospitals. Limited exceptions will be granted for special circumstances. Approved visitors must be 16 years of age or older. If you have questions, please speak with your care team.
Everyone will be actively screened before entering the hospital. Screening includes a short verbal health assessment. Those who do not pass the screening process will not be permitted inside the building.
Staying Connected with Patients
While we have restricted visitors to the hospital, we want to ensure that you stay connected with your loved one who is in the hospital during this time. All patients have been provided with free access to the telephone, TV and internet that is available through their bedside entertainment terminals.
The Virtual Visiting Program is available for patients and their loved ones to receive assistance with connecting over the internet while visitor restrictions are in effect. Click here to learn more about the program.
Essential items and special dietary food items can be dropped off for patients Monday - Friday between 12:00pm – 5:00pm. Screeners at the entrance will direct you to the centralized drop-off location at each hospital.
Essential items include: glasses, dentures, clean clothes, etc.
Essential items must be in a disposable bag. Food must be in disposable containers. All items must be clearly labeled with the patient’s full name and location in the hospital (level, unit and room number i.e. 3-C-231).
